I'd like to make my own wedding stationery |
| A. |
If you want to make your own wedding stationery then the best place to start is with a theme or colour. You may have Cala Lilies as your main flower and so want to carry this theme through to your wedding stationery. If you're really struggling for ideas then it's simplest to start with a colour - it's usually easiest to choose the colour of the bridesmaids dresses.
Then look at the choices of card that are available firstly think about the colours and textures then the sizes. With a little planning it's possible to match all your wedding stationery from your save the date cards to your guest book. Remember to add a few extra items to your shopping list to allow for trials, error or even someone who you've forgotten to invite!
When making your own wedding stationery don't be afraid to try something new - the whole idea is that you can stand out from the crowd. Your guests will be thrilled that you've gone to all the trouble of making your wedding stationery and it will be a guaranteed talking point!
Some of the simplest designs just involve layering some beautiful handmade papers (see our decorative papers) with an ornament on the top. Don't forget that these papers can be torn or even slighlty scrunched according to the look you want to create.
Beautiful trims tied down the side of the card can add that final finishing touch, but don't get too carried away remember that your wedding invitation has got to fit inside the envelope!
For your inserts try different coloured papers - this can transform essentially simple designs into something quite funky with all the amazing coloured papers available.
Finally, making your own wedding invitations can be time consuming when you've so many other things to organize but all you need is a little imagination and plenty of patience. Making your own wedding stationery will all be worth it when you receive such lovely feedback from your guests! |
